Gabriel and I are energized, honored and grateful to announce our collaboration in May and June of 2025 in the Pacific Northwest. We come together with a genuine love for this dance, a shared dedication to the small communities that pump blood to the heart of the tango world, and a reverence for the gift of tango as a transformative art.
Gabriel Magni has spent the last three years living in Buenos Aires, training, competing, and teaching. He has performed in various milongas in the city and the Teatro Metropolitan as a member of El Cxuce, directed by Facundo Piñero and Vanesa Villalba.
He comes to Olympia with the shared value of investing in smaller art communities, bringing the essence of tango from Buenos Aires to social dancing and making individual connections with students to create lasting transformations.
I know Gabi is thrilled to bring his passion to Olympia in our weekly group classes, workshops and socials. We also look forward to meeting you in nearby dance communities, developing tango, sharing our appreciation for the essence of social dance, and the blessing that is the tango community.
Our goal is not to show stage tango elements but to teach authentic social tango using accessible tools to bring out the creativity and artistry in all dancers (regardless of ability and level).
We will focus on quality, phrasing, connecting/embodiment, and musicality, using the figure as a vehicle to understand these deeper concepts. We are looking to empower confident, creative, considerate social dancers!
A full schedule of events will be released throughout the next month on the website, as well as Facebook Event pages.
We’ll be kicking things off with a very special Wine and Tango Meet and Greet on May 21st at Practica Tinta Roja at Endless Sound Cellars, 7-9PM! You don’t want to miss it!
Warm Tango Hugs,
Jennifer and Gabi
