Shout it from the rooftops, Charles and Wella are coming back to Olympia! Aren’t we the luckiest? The only thing logical is to celebrate this holiday weekend with a tango blowout. Two milongas in two days, anyone?

Saturday, July 6th

• Workshop I with Charles and Jennifer - Pivot Technique and Essential Turns for Navigation: Let’s explore the pivot and how we use it in the few most essential turns to navigate the dance floor in the social milonga. If you’re building your dance foundations, you know that changing directions, moving in tight spaces and navigating the dance floor are key challenges. Let’s get tools!

Time: 3-5PM

Location: Fusion, The Integrated Body, 302 Columbia St. NW, Olympia, WA 98501

Cost: $35 drop in; $50 for workshop I & II

• Alternative Milonga with DJ Charles Augustine

  Location: Uptown Grill, 514 Capital Way S, Olympia

  Time: 8-10:30PM- kitchen open until 9PM, full bar until 10:30PM

  All alternative/nuevo styles for three hours of dance. Let’s make our own fireworks! Door entry $10

Sunday, July 7th

• Workshop II with Charles and Jennifer - The Possibilities of the Pause: They say the tango is as much about the pause as it is the steps. Let’s explore the pause! How does the tool of space relate to pause and what are the possibilities? Let’s find out together…

  Time: 1-2:30PM

• Milonga Yo Soy El Tango- traditional music with DJ Wella Augustine

  Time: Pre-milonga class 3:30-4PM with Wella Augustine

  Social Dance 4-7PM, showcase 5:15PM
